Set up your voice agent.
Everything you need to go from a new account to an agent answering visitors on your website. Most people finish in under ten minutes.
Quick start
- Create your account and name your organization, usually your business name.
- Create an agent: pick a voice and language, and write a few lines of instructions.
- Add your website, FAQs or documents in Knowledge.
- Talk to your agent in the Voice studio and adjust the instructions until you're happy.
- Publish the agent, copy its snippet from Add to website and paste it into your site.
Create an agent
Go to Agents and choose Create agent. The builder walks you through five steps, and you can come back to any of them later.
Basic information
Give the agent a name visitors will hear, choose its purpose (customer support, sales, appointment booking or lead capture) and its language. Supported languages: English (US), English (UK), French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin).
Personality
Set the tone and write instructions the way you'd brief a new receptionist. Good instructions cover:
- Who the agent works for and what it helps with.
- The tone to use, for example warm and brief.
- What to do when someone wants an appointment or a callback: which details to collect.
- Topics to avoid, such as medical or legal advice.
The greeting is the first sentence visitors hear. Keep it short and say what the agent can help with, for example “Hi, this is Sarah from BrightSmile Dental. How can I help?”
Voice
Play the previews and pick the voice that fits your business. You can change it later.
Knowledge
Choose which knowledge sources this agent answers from. See the next section for adding them.
Behavior
Decide how the agent handles leads and the end of a conversation, then save and publish.
Add knowledge
Knowledge is what your agent answers from. Open Knowledge and add any of these:
| Source | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Website URL | Service, pricing and contact pages. Re-index after you update your site. |
| FAQ | Short questions and answers, such as opening hours and policies. |
| Text | Anything that isn't written down anywhere else yet. |
| File | PDF, DOCX, TXT or CSV, up to 20 MB each. |
Each source shows whether it's processing, ready or failed. A source can be available to all agents or only to one.
Test in the Voice studio
Open Voice studio, choose an agent and press the green call button. Allow microphone access and speak normally. You can interrupt the agent at any time. If you can't use a microphone, choose Type to chat in text instead.
Test calls are saved to Conversations and count toward your voice minutes.
Add to your website
Publish your agent, then open its Add to website page. Copy the snippet and paste it just before the closing </body> tag on every page, or in your site builder's custom code settings. It looks like this:
<script src="https://app.veycall.com/widget.js"
data-agent-id="YOUR_AGENT_ID" async></script>On the same page you can set:
- The widget color, to match your brand.
- A greeting shown on the widget.
- An avatar image for your agent.
- Allowed websites: the domains the widget may run on. Add your domain so nobody can use your agent on another site.
Websites in several languages
Each agent speaks one language, with a voice whose accent is native to it. For a bilingual website, create one agent per language, each with a voice from that language, then paste each agent's snippet on the pages in its language: the French agent on your French pages, the English agent on your English pages. Every visitor then talks to an agent that sounds natural in their language.
Conversations and leads
Every conversation is saved in Conversations with its transcript. Filter by agent, language and date. When a visitor shares contact details, the agent creates a lead in Leads. Update each lead's status (new, contacted, qualified, won or lost) as you follow up.
When the conversation shows something urgent (a leak, pain, a same-day need), the lead is marked Urgent. You can change its priority any time. Owners and admins get an email for every new lead, or only urgent ones: choose in Settings → Organization → Email alerts.
When a visitor asks for an appointment, the agent asks for their preferred day and time and repeats it back. The lead shows the requested appointment: adjust the time or duration if needed, then add it to your calendar in one click with Google, Apple (iPhone and Mac) or Outlook. Then confirm with the customer.
Team and roles
Invite teammates from Settings. Owners and admins manage agents, billing and members. Members can work with agents, knowledge, conversations and leads.
Plans and billing
Each plan includes a monthly bundle of voice minutes. Plans are prepaid in cryptocurrency for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months from Billing. See pricing for what each plan includes.
